Style can be a slippery slope…
She said it would never happen, but I’m finally doing it. I’m dragging ‘Stylist to the Stars’ Maureen Halloran
up a mountain; but I’m beginning to think it’s me that will be kicking and screaming – not her. I’ve already told her she can’t do it in stilettos and a corset! Since news broke we’ve been inundated with dozens of people who want to come too, and loads of people offering support because Maureen’s doing this for a really good cause, ‘Climb4Karen’ which she’ll tell you all about herself.
Bringing in the heroes…
Because Maureen’s a bit of a handful (steady), we’ve decided to bring in the professionals. Let me introduce you to Ronan Friel from Irish Guided Walks. Maureen’s challenge is to climb a mountain, my challenge is to try and keep her under control, and Ronan’s job is to keep tabs on both of us.
Ronan’s already cracked a whip and capped the numbers in respect for the mountain and Ronan’s nerves. That doesn’t stop you helping out or donating though, and I really hope you will. Maureen will be launching a web-page soon with all the details, so keep an eye on FB and Twitter – or I’ll let you know about it here.
Parkrun to the rescue
Joking aside, it’s a great cause and it’s a serious challenge. Maureen is determined to train properly. She has already registered with Parkrun and has started joining me on Saturday’s for a regular 5k to get her training started. If you see us on our regular timed ‘walk and trot’ give us a wave. She could quite possibly be the dark-haired wan, in red runners and suspenders! O saints alive… what have I done…..???
