A busy day today, and it hasn’t really started! I nipped down to Grand Canal Dock to check out the scene ahead of tomorrow’s ‘Dip in the Dock’ when 98FM throws two teams in the water, in a charity race to support Haven. I’m fated for disappointment in life because I’m competitive, but I’m not fast! lol Anyhow, here I was, snooping around and considering tactics. If you look very carefully you’ll see an orange dot in the distance, that’s the buoy we have to swim out to – and around. It’s all happening tomorrow at 1pm, so nip down and have a giggle if you’re free. All the local companies are putting in teams too. It’s going to be a riot!
I’ve finally conceded defeat and booked my silver dream machine into a bike-doctor in Blanch… in other words, my push-bike’s getting a service! The carrier was broken too, the gears were jamming, the breaks were grabbing and the quick-release wheels don’t release at all anymore. She’s due a rest and some TLC, so my biking days are on hold for about a week.
What’s next? Well it’s Thursday – so that means I should be getting into my wetsuit around now to go kayaking with the Wild Water Kayak Club on the Strawberry Beds. I’m rushing and running late again, the story of my life… and why isn’t it raining? It rained for every one of our first 3 classes – oh well, I mustn’t tempt fate… was that a drip?
UPDATE:
Kayaking over weirs and white water is not easy! 🙁
